A fun days work at a school in Axminster. During the day we made giant sculptures of the bugs we found whilst we had been out exploring in the morning. Pooters and magnifiers at the ready.

...We found.. crickets, bees, moths, millipedes, ants, slugs and Beetles.

Using the projector to see our bugs enlarged we studies their form and structure. Next drawing begins.

and by the end of the day.... we had a giant beetle, moth, bee and cricket.. Below is a photo of the very wonderful giant cricket.

Yesterday I spent the day at Dalwood school in Axminster. I worked with all the pupils from Dalwood (all 12 of them!!!!and a class from Musbury school. It was a fun day creating a mural of a countryside village. Originally, our plan had been to create a mural of Dalwood village with a walk in the morning exploring for ideas, sketches and designs. But, unfortunately in true Devon Spring weather the rain put a halt to these plans..however, the sun did finally peek its face out.. but only once all children had gone home at the end of the day. This was also the moment I decided to photograph their wonderful work... look you can see the sun in my photograph.. Hooray for sun and the children's lovely mural but boo for my rubbish photo..

Workshop with three different classes set over two days. Helping improve expression, style and general drawing techniques.

These are three postcards from a set of six. I drew and illustrated these as part of a project with Blazing Tales for English Heritage and Combe Martin museam.

We spent a day in Combe Martin collecting stories past and present. Combe Martin used to have one of the longest high streets in the country. This high street was filled with shops from top to bottom. Like many small towns today the small shops are few and far between as supermarkets have taken their toll. However, memories of these shop fronts can still be found. It was these echoes of the past which inspired us to create this alternative set of postcards for the town. They can be bought in the Combe Martin Museam.

This is one illustration from a set I did based on the Indonesian story of The Crocodiles tale. Currently being exhibited at Duchy Square in Princetown, Dartmoor.

For this project I worked with a group bringing a character to life from the Indonesian story The Crocodile's Tale. This giant crocodile was made on the banks of the River Exe from the materials found in the surrounding area.

Blazing Tales' The River Exe-pedition was a community project for mixed heritage families in Devon. Our journey followed the River Exe. I worked as one of the main artists on the project so hopefully some photos of our exe-pedition should spring up shortly.
